Here you are, an early christmas present to you – a reminder of an age when cheese literally oozed from tv sets and no one took the slightest bit of notice. David Bowie and Bing Crosby with ‘Little Drummer Boy’ – surely the most unlikeliest of duets which should have never worked, but somehow actually does.
I love the script as well, I wonder if Bowie rehearsed this or just ad-libbed his way through it. You can tell that Crosby is cursing his agent for ever thinking of the promotional stunt. He’s regretting every moment of this recording and it shows.
