Discovered these Guardian Sessions on their website today. Think they could do a better job at highlighting this content as I think it’s bloody brilliant. Nicely shot and framed by the ‘How I Wrote’ approach. Couldn’t find embed tags so had a look elsewhere.
No doubt about it. I can’t believe Depeche Mode’s ‘Enjoy The Silence’ is now twenty years old but it’s still the greatest single ever released by mankind. And here’s why:
16, romance, romantics, new romantics, gospel, Martin L. Gore, Dave Gahan, harmonies, 303s, acid lines, techno, first kiss, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Depeche Mode fan club, Ministry of Sound interviews, video, abstract, blue, European, alternative, white rose, Anton Corbijn, 12″, remixes, poster paint on school bags, futuristic, 80s, stealing brother’s vinyl collection, HMV, discovery.
And I still have the actual vinyl. Wonderful.
I can’t post the video here because EMI have prevented me. Instead I’ll post this Commodore 64 version which some nutter has worked on. Genius.
